Xiaomi is reportedly finalising a new tracking tag, and according to reports, the product could arrive at a price point that will put direct pressure on alternatives from brands like Apple and Motorola.
According to reliable Weibo leaker Repeater 002, the company is in the process of finalising the “Xiaomi Tag” and plans to launch it alongside the Xiaomi Watch 5 and Buds 6. These accessories are reportedly slated to be unveiled during the Xiaomi 17 Ultra launch event in China on December 26, 2025. Official confirmation is still pending.

While detailed information is scarce so far, initial indications point to some key features. The product is likely to be called the “Xiaomi Tag,” and reports suggest it will feature Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support. This technology enables highly accurate, short-range location tracking, similar to the “Precision Finding” feature found in Apple’s AirTag.
Another significant aspect is that the tag will reportedly work with Google’s Find My Device network. This network securely and anonymously relays the location of offline tags through nearby Android smartphones.
UWB support and Google network integration aren’t entirely unique anymore. Chipolo, Pebblebee, and Motorola’s Moto Tag already offer similar capabilities. But the key differentiator could be Xiaomi’s pricing strategy.
Currently, both the Moto Tag and Pebblebee Clip are priced above $25 on Amazon, and most alternatives fall within this range. If Xiaomi prices its tag lower with similar or better specifications, it could become a compelling new option for Android users.

Reports also suggest that if the company follows its traditional pricing strategy, a long-awaited competitor to the AirTag could finally emerge.
