A major leak regarding Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, has surfaced, providing crucial insights into its global launch timeline. The device was already unveiled in China late last year, where it was positioned above the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in the company’s top-end lineup. However, only the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra are currently available in international markets.
According to the new information, the global variant of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has appeared on the Geekbench database. This listing, with the model number 2512BPNDAG, clearly indicates that the device is being actively prepared for international markets. Current indications suggest that only the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra might be launched outside of China.
There are no changes to the performance specifications. The Geekbench listing confirms that the global Xiaomi 17 Ultra will also feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Furthermore, this smartphone will run directly on Android 16 for international users, setting it apart from the recently launched Xiaomi 15T Pro.
The memory configuration is also a key part of this leak. The listing reveals that Xiaomi plans to offer the device in the global market with its top RAM variant. The 16 GB RAM variant is now considered almost confirmed. However, it is still unclear whether a more affordable 12 GB RAM option will be available outside of China.
In the tech industry, listings like those on Geekbench are usually considered a strong indicator of an imminent launch. Based on this, it is speculated that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s global debut could happen by mid-to-late February, rather than being delayed until MWC 2026 in early March.
However, the leak also points to one potential drawback. According to reports, the global variant of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra may have a limited battery capacity, meaning it could be smaller than that of the Chinese model.
Overall, this leak suggests that Xiaomi is preparing to bring its next-generation Ultra flagship to global users sooner than expected, and without compromising on key specifications such as the chipset, RAM, or software.
