After a long wait following the Chinese release in late 2025, the Xiaomi 17 lineup is finally making its way to international markets.
According to the latest industry reports, the tech giant is preparing for a major announcement at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, scheduled for March 2–5, 2026.
March 2026: The Key Month for Russian Fans
The base models first showed up in China last September, but Russian stores still don’t have them in stock. According to Androidinsider, the launch in Russia is expected to follow the same schedule as the global rollout. In other words, fans in Russia can look forward to seeing these devices hit the shelves around mid-March 2026, right after the big MWC showcase.
Price Predictions: What Will the Xiaomi 17 Cost?
The transition from Chinese Yuan to Russian Rubles involves more than just a currency swap; import costs and logistics will play a significant role.
- Xiaomi 17 (Standard): Expected to retail between 80,000 and 100,000 RUB. (For context, the Chinese entry price is roughly 4,499 yuan).
- Xiaomi 17 Ultra: The premium photography flagship is anticipated to start at approximately 150,000 RUB.
Which Models are Crossing the Border?
Not every device in the lineup will be available globally. While China enjoys four variants—the 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Ultra- it appears the Pro and Pro Max versions will remain exclusive to the Chinese market.
International buyers, including those in Russia, will likely have to choose between the standard Xiaomi 17 and the high-end Ultra model.
A Warning on “Grey Market” Imports
Although it is currently possible to find these devices on various global marketplaces, experts advise against purchasing the Chinese firmware versions. These units often lack Russian language support and may face connectivity issues with local mobile networks. Waiting for the official global version ensures a seamless HyperOS 3 experience and full warranty support.
Market Trends: Honour Takes the Lead
The news comes at a time of shifting dominance in the mobile sector. Recent data shows that Honour has surpassed its rivals to become the most successful Chinese smartphone brand internationally, boasting a massive 55% growth in global shipments throughout 2025.
