Honor has finally launched its new foldable smartphone, Magic V5, which is being called the world’s thinnest foldable phone. The company has directly introduced this model, skipping the Magic V4, which has many important upgrades compared to the previous version.
Design and build quality
This time to make the phone more practical, its frame has been kept flatter than before, making it easier to hold in the hand. Its thickness is only 8.8mm when folded, while when unfolded it is 4.1mm to 4.2mm thick (depending on the colour variant). The Ivory White version is the lightest and thinnest, while the Black, Dawn Gold and Reddish Brown variants are slightly heavier (weighing between 217g to 222g).
Powerful battery and security
Honor has also given a big upgrade regarding the battery. In China, this phone comes with a 6,100mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the international version has a 5,820mAh battery. With this, support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging has also been retained.
Talking about protection, the Magic V5 has got IP58 and IP59 ratings, which makes it better protected from both water and dust. This upgrade is better than the IPX8 rating of the previous model.
Display
The cover display of the phone has a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED panel, which gives 2376×1060 pixel resolution and 5,000 nits brightness. The main (inner) display is 7.95-inch, which has a resolution of 2352×2172 pixels and it also gets the same brightness level. Both screens support 120Hz refresh rate.

- 50MP f/1.6 wide-angle lens
- 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide camera (was 40MP earlier)
- 64MP telephoto lens (with 70mm focal length)
- For selfies, there are 20MP f/2.2 front cameras on both displays.
Performance and variants
The device uses the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which promises high-end performance. The phone comes in three configurations:
