HyperOS 3.1 is not just a minor update. Xiaomi has removed old and unnecessary code, making the system cleaner and more optimized.
In addition, the new iOS-style Recent Apps system, improved HyperIsland features, and deeper integration with Android 16 are a major part of this update.
The use of the same 3.0.300 major version across the Xiaomi 14, 15, and Redmi K80 series indicates that the company is now working on a unified codebase. This will result in faster updates and reduced differences between devices in the future.
The rollout of HyperOS 3.1, starting with newer devices like the Xiaomi 17 and K90 and now extending to older flagships, suggests that a stable release is not far off. More devices are expected to be included in the coming weeks.
