Xiaomi has launched the most powerful model in the Redmi Turbo 5 series, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, in China. This smartphone prioritises battery, performance, and durability over camera capabilities, distinguishing it from typical mid-range phones.
First, let’s talk about the battery
The defining feature of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is its massive 9000mAh battery. This is considered the largest battery ever in the Redmi lineup.

According to the company, the phone can provide approximately 11 hours and 10 minutes of screen-on time. For charging, it features 100W wired fast charging, while 27W wired reverse charging allows it to function as a power bank when needed.
Performance and Hardware

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, which is described as a tuned version of the flagship Dimensity 9500. Its performance is reportedly on par with the Dimensity 9400. It comes with:
- Up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM
- Up to 512GB of UFS 5.1 storage
This configuration is sufficient for gaming and heavy multitasking. In terms of software, the device runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Display Features
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display.
- 120Hz refresh rate
- 3500 nits peak brightness
- 3840Hz PWM dimming and DC dimming
- Dolby Vision support
This display is designed with both outdoor visibility and eye protection in mind.
Design and Durability
The phone features a CNC metal frame on the sides and a fibreglass back panel. A dual-ring turbine-style light strip on the rear panel is its distinctive visual element.

Colour options include Shadow Black, Ocean Blue, Cloud White, and Sunshine Orange.
For durability, the phone has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
Camera Setup
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a dual rear camera setup:
- 50MP Light Fusion 600 primary camera (1/1.95-inch sensor, OIS + EIS)
- 8MP ultra-wide camera
Both cameras support 4K 60fps video recording.
Connectivity and Other Features
The phone includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an infrared sensor, and dual nano-SIM support.

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is currently available for sale in China:

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed an international launch, but it is expected that this device may be launched in other markets, including India, under the POCO branding.
