Xiaomi has begun rolling out its new Self-Install Smart Lock globally. This smart home product is currently available in select markets in Asia and the Middle East, with a European launch expected in the coming months.
This smart lock was first spotted on Xiaomi’s global website in October 2025. It is designed to work with existing door lock systems and, uniquely, requires no drilling or permanent modifications to install.
Xiaomi has begun selling this smart lock in markets such as Japan and the United Arab Emirates. It is priced at ¥12,980 (approximately $82) in Japan, while it is available in the UAE for AED 359 (approximately $98).
Additionally, support pages have appeared in European countries like the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy, suggesting the company is preparing for a European launch. However, Xiaomi has not yet revealed an official launch date or price for Europe.
The Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock comes with multiple unlocking options. These include a fingerprint scanner on the keypad, permanent and temporary passwords, unlocking via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and voice control support. A physical backup key is also provided for use in case of technical issues.

Users can manage this smart lock through the Xiaomi Home app, where features like checking the lock status, automatic locking, and anti-tamper alerts are available. Notably, this smart lock supports the Matter smart home standard, making it compatible with various smart home platforms.
If this smart lock launches in Europe at around the same price, it could give tough competition to expensive smart lock devices like the SwitchBot Lock Ultra, which costs over €200 in many European markets.
Xiaomi has not yet shared any official information regarding the launch in Europe, but current indications suggest that the company is preparing to introduce it as a global smart home solution.
