Xiaomi is set to revolutionise the mobile photo editing experience with the HyperOS3 update. Xiaomi is now bringing a feature to smartphones that professional users have long known as Adobe Lightroom Presets.
This new update provides Xiaomi phone users with Batch Photo Editing (Copy & Paste Edits) support, making it incredibly easy to edit multiple photos with similar lighting and tones.
What is the Batch Photo Editing Feature?
This new feature added to HyperOS 3 allows users to copy the edits made to one photo and apply them to multiple other photos simultaneously. This eliminates the hassle of editing each photo individually. This feature can be particularly useful for travel, sunset, portrait, and social media content.
How it Works
The user first edits a photo in the Gallery app, adjusting the lighting, colour, filters, or tone to their liking. Then, they select the Copy Edit Points option from the “More” or three-dot menu. Next, they go to the Gallery’s grid view, select the other photos, and choose Paste Edit Points. Within seconds, the same edits are applied to all the selected photos.
Who will benefit the most?
This feature is incredibly useful for those who:
- Do Golden Hour or Sunset Photography, where the light changes rapidly
- Do event photography, such as birthday or wedding shoots
- Want to maintain consistent colour grading and mood for social media content
Local Processing and Limitations
Xiaomi has clarified that this entire process happens locally on the device. However, if the user selects a large number of high-resolution photos (such as 50MP RAW files), the processing may take some time.
Important Note on Availability
This Batch Editing feature is being rolled out through the latest version of the HyperOS 3 Gallery app. This is a server-side update, so some users may not see this feature immediately even after updating the app.
