According to reports, Xiaomi’s sub-brand REDMI is once again going to significantly upgrade its Turbo series. REDMI Product Manager Hu Xinxin recently shared a video providing initial information about the REDMI Turbo 5 series. The company has confirmed that this series will be officially launched this month.
This time, not just one model, but a new and more powerful variant will be added to the Turbo lineup, called the REDMI Turbo 5 Max.
Turbo 5 Max: The Most Powerful Phone in the Turbo Series Yet
According to reports, the REDMI Turbo 5 Max is being touted as the most powerful model in the series. The company says that this phone will come with a positioning “above Pro.” It will feature:
- Max-level performance
- Max battery life
- Premium build quality
- And a flagship experience
According to REDMI, this will be the most powerful flagship phone in the Turbo series to date.
Major Focus on Processor and Performance
According to reports, the REDMI Turbo 5 Max will feature the new Dimensity 9500s processor, which will debut in the Turbo series for the first time.
This chipset will come with a large cache, a more powerful GPU, and a flagship-grade architecture.
In terms of performance, it is expected to be on par with or even better than high-end processors like the
- Snapdragon 8 Elite
- and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
REDMI aims to position it directly as a performance leader in the 2.5K price segment.
The Best Option of 2026 in the $345 (2,500 Yuan)?
Xiaomi Group Partner and Head of the Smartphone Division, Lu Weibing, has also expressed confidence in the Turbo 5 Max. He said that the Turbo 5 Max could become the best smartphone option in the $345 (2,500 Yuan) range in 2026.
Potential Features and Hardware Details
According to reports, the REDMI Turbo 5 series will include several flagship features, which may include:
- 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner
- Metal frame and glass back design
- Flagship-level chipset
- 100W fast charging support
- Symmetrical dual speaker setup
However, it is being said that it will feature a standard X-axis motor for haptic feedback. The focus in the camera section will be on a large main sensor, while a highly complex camera setup is considered unlikely.
Furthermore, there are rumours that the high-end variant of the Turbo 5 Max will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and the largest battery ever seen in a Xiaomi series phone.
